Sometimes organized around an instrument facility, other times built around a common scientific or intellectual approach, William & Mary operates or participates in a number of nationally-renowned centers dedicated to the investigation of problems of physics, computer science, applied science, chemistry and biology related to such issues as materials science, the environment, neuroscience and computational mathematics.
